Not all questions are created equal. Questioning is a fundamental teaching method, but masterful questioning is essential to accelerate learning and close learning gaps. Participants in this session will review research and practices from Jim Knight, Doug Lemov, Warren Berger and others to learn questioning strategies that promote student inquiry, critical thinking, and student discussion. Instructional coaches, administrators, and peer teachers who attend will be able to support classroom instructors to implement effective questioning practices to increase the cognitive load required of students and achieve academic gains.
